Giving to NCA

Thank you for generously considering making a donation to NCA.  Your gift will support the accomplishment of NCA’s important mission:

The National Communication Association advances communication as the discipline that studies all forms, modes, media, and consequences of communication through humanistic, social scientific and aesthetic inquiry. The NCA serves the scholars, teachers, and practitioners who are its members by enabling and supporting their professional interests in research and teaching. Dedicated to fostering and promoting free and ethical communication, the NCA promotes the widespread appreciation of the importance of communication in public and private life, the application of competent communication to improve the quality of human life and relationships, and the use of knowledge about communication to solve human problems.

Highlighted Awards
This month we highlight two new Awards for the Association:

Julia T. Wood Early Career Award in Feminist Research.  This award is named for a pioneer scholar influential in establishing gender as an area of study within the field of Communication, as well as publishing research that demonstrates the value of feminist methods and topics for Communications scholarship.  This Award recognizes a body of work that is specifically feminist in orientation, through some combination of topic, methodological/theoretical perspective, and scholarly purpose.

Orlando L. Taylor Distinguished Scholarship Award in Africana Communication.  Names for the Association’s 85th president, and the first African American to serve in that role, this award honors a scholar whose body of word demonstrates a sustained commitment to the study of African American and/or African Diaspora communication and culture.
