Executive Office 

 Trevor Parry-Giles, Ph.D.  
Interim Executive Director  
Trevor graduated from Ripon College and holds an M.A. from the University of New Mexico and a Ph.D. from Indiana University. In addition to his full-time NCA position, he is a professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Maryland. He is the co-author of The Prime-Time Presidency: The West Wing and U.S. Nationalism (University of Illinois Press) and Constructing Clinton: Hyperreality and Presidential Image-Making in Postmodern Politics (Peter Lang). Trevor is also the author of The Character of Justice: Rhetoric, Law, and Politics in the Supreme Court Confirmation Process (Michigan State University Press). His research has appeared in the Quarterly Journal of Speech, Rhetoric & Public Affairs, Critical Studies in Mass Communication, and elsewhere.

Mark Fernando 
Chief Operating Officer 
Mark earned his M.A. in Communication from Georgetown University and his B.S. in Communication Studies and Political Science from Towson University, where he also has served as an adjunct faculty member.  Mark has more than 10 years of experience in non-profit association governance, communications, and teaching. Before joining NCA, he served as Deputy Director of Communications at the National Consumers League.

Caitlyn Reinauer

Caitlyn earned her B.S. in Political Science with a minor in Communication from East Carolina University. During her time at ECU, Caitlyn worked for Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and City Councilwoman Marion Blackburn. Prior to joining NCA, Caitlyn worked as an intern for a Government Relations firm in Washington, DC.

Academic and Professional Affairs 

LaKesha Anderson 
LaKesha Anderson, Ph.D. 
Assistant Director for Academic and Professional Affairs 

LaKesha holds a Ph.D. from George Mason University, an M.A. from East Tennessee State University, and a B.S. from The University of Virginia – Wise.  Prior to joining NCA, she was an Assistant Professor of Communication at Indiana State University, teaching courses in advanced research methods and health communication. She also spent several years as an instructor at George Mason University and has served as a grant writer and program director for multiple nonprofits in Virginia. LaKesha’s research on health, risk, and crisis communication has appeared in several journals and books, and she has received awards for both her research and university service.

Jacqueline earned her B.A. in Communication and Political Science from Saint Louis University (SLU). While at SLU, Jacqueline worked as a columnist and co-editor of Editorials for The University News, and also as a Teaching Assistant.  Immediately prior to joining NCA, Jacqueline served as a Jesuit Volunteer, working as a Case Manager for The Oasis Center in Nashville, TN.

External Affairs and Publications

Wendy holds a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Maryland. She has nearly 30 years of experience in higher education association publishing, communications, and program development.  Wendy spent almost 20 years with the American Council on Education, where she served as Director of Publications and Director of the Annual Meeting Program. Immediately prior to joining NCA, Wendy was Vice President of Communications and Marketing for the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine.

Jenna Sauber 
Media Relations and Public Outreach Manager 
Jenna holds a B.A. in English Journalism from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She has nearly 10 years of experience in digital communications and fundraising in the social good sector, including with the UN Foundation and the Case Foundation. Prior to joining NCA, she was a consultant and storyteller for multiple advocacy organizations and small businesses. Jenna has also served as a freelance writer for organizations such as the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the American Writers Museum, and BookBub.

Aaron holds a B.A. from the University of Mount Union and an M.A. from American University. He has almost ten years of experience in website design, social media, membership and member programs, program management, and event planning. Immediately prior to joining NCA, Aaron served as Member Programs Associate and Registrar for the American Horticultural Society.

Kristin holds a B.B.A. in Hospitality and Tourism Management from James Madison University. She has more than five years of experience in meeting management and student services. Immediately prior to joining NCA, Kristin served as Coordinator of Student Services at the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars.

Kim Griffin

Kim holds a B.S. from Babson University and an M.B.A. from Wake Forest University. She has more than 25 years of experience in non-profit management, financial planning for Fortune 100 companies, information technology management, and public accounting.

Winifred Brumskine 
General Accountant 
Winifred earned her B.S. from Bishop College in Dallas, TX. She has more than 20 years of experience in non-profit financial accounting. Winifred served as Staff Accountant for the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network prior to joining NCA.

Justin Danowski

Justin holds an M.A. in Communication Studies with a focus on Media Theory from Eastern Illinois University and a B.A. from the University of Illinois.
